The first month of 2011 is not too good signs for new car sales in Europe. Thus, in January was sold almost 1.1 miliioane new car, which means a decrease of 1.1% over the same month last year. Therefore, analysts remain pessimistic forecasts.

The most important automotive markets remain Germany, France, Italy and Britain, where they were sold more than 100,000 cars in January. If Germany and France there were slight increases in sales compared to January 2010 is not as if England and Spain, with the largest declines, which, moreover, have influenced the negative compared to last year.
As expected, the best selling brand on the European level remains Volkswagen, with a 5% increase compared to January 2010. Germans are followed by Renault, which, however, sees its total sales decreased by 8%, while in January 2010 surprised the market with a 50% increase compared to January 2009.

The TOP 10 Brands longer notes Opel / Vauxhall, which manages to overtake Citroen and Fiat as compared to January 2010, installing 5th place, just behind Peugeot, but still quite a distance than Ford. Interesting sales growth premium brands BMW, Audi and Mercedes, while the Ford, Peugeot, Citroen, Toyota and especially Fiat, have sold less than in January 2010.
